Their Feelings

Uranus and Neptune have been considered cold, selfish, ruthless, calculating, wary, extreme, hardheaded and uncaring. Some who consider them as such are fans of the show as well as other characters that they interact with.

The thing is, though, Uranus and Neptune were two of the three carriers of the talismans. They had truly pure hearts. As Eudial put it in episode 110, "Who in the world has the purest heart to hide a talisman?" People seem to forget that. How can they be uncaring, selfish or cruel when their hearts are pure?

People seem to miss all the sufferings they underwent. They suffered in silence and only had each other to understand. They took all verbal blows and stood tall. Inside though, they were being torn apart.

I have always believed Haruka and Michiru feel just as deeply as any of the other soldiers. They experienced pain, sadness, longing, yearning, guilt, frustration, loss and many other despairing feelings throughout the show. They sacrificed everything of themselves from simply pleasures, a normal life, romantic relationships, their dreams and even their lives.

The following observes examples from episodes in the anime of things they gave up, their losses and their pains along with some of my own personal interpretations. Setsuna’s sacrifices and pains will be added when she finally shows up as well. In between, there are also my takes on what Haruka and Michiru’s true feelings are for each other and on what they, along with Setsuna, really think of Sailor Moon and company.
