92 "A Beautiful Boy? The Secret of Haruka Tenoh"

In this episode Michiru comments that Haruka seemed to get to know Usagi and Minako pretty well. Haruka asks if she is jealous. Michiru replies maybe. By the looks of it, they are lightly flirting and Haruka subtly asks Michiru if she is still interested in her. Michiru hints with a maybe.

Later when Usagi and Minalo interrogate her about Michiru, Haruka replies "My Michiru?" As indicated by the two girls, for Haruka to not use an honorific on Michiru's name shows a great closeness between them. Haruka admits she and Michiru are much closer than lovers.

When Michiru shows up, Minako demands to know if they are lovers. Usagi demands a simple yes or no answer. Michiru replies no. Still though, if it wasn't limited to yes and no... Would she have said the same thing as Haruka? They were closer than just lovers? Would she have thought, "I wish we could be though, but we have no time for relationships"?

As Haruka waits outside the car repair shop, Michiru answers a question of Minako's with "Haruka's dream is to be the top race car driver." Haruka interrupts saying it is not a dream, but was one. Haruka gave up that dream for her mission as a soldier. Michiru sympathizes with how hard that was for her and gently places her hand over Haruka's in comfort.

The two of them do not like what they have to do and try their best to keep indifferent, but sometimes they display their reluctance and turmoil. Haruka is the first. In this episode when Kameda is being attacked Haruka wishes to help him, but Michiru holds her back. They can't afford to be sympathetic to others. It may hurt them, they may not like it, but they do such even if it kills their souls.
