As the three soldiers from the outer rim of the Solar System head for Mugen Gakuen, Uranus speaks aloud how they have no choice. They have little time and can only strike before Mistress Nine completely awakens. Neptune knows Uranus is in utter turmoil and gently places her hand on hers to let her know she is there. Uranus continues with a more resigned look to her face, "So there was no Messiah after all. We have to save the world with our own hands… No matter what sacrifice we have to make…"
They will have to kill. Their ray of hope never came.
Pluto remains silent, looking away in deep thought. I think she knows who the true Messiah is, but is not able to tell. Perhaps it is because she knows the Messiah of light doesn't have the power yet. She isn't physically mature enough to handle the power yet. The future can always change and she cannot give false hope if the Messiah doesn't awaken in time.
As they near the barrier around the academy, they are attacked when trying to enter. It is here Pluto performs her greatest sacrifice. Pluto stops time before they can be killed by the helicopter's explosion. Uranus and Neptune never knew she could do such and are surprised she never shared such information with them. Pluto explains that it the greatest taboo she could ever break as the Guardian of Time. Neptune asks what will happen to her for doing such a thing. Pluto instead says a cryptic message, "If you are able to meet the real Messiah…"
Before anything else can be said, Uranus and Neptune are transported to safety. Pluto dies in the explosion. Her punishment for stopping time was death to her corporeal body of the 20th Century. Uranus and Neptune watch in disbelief when time resumes and the helicopter finishes its explosion.
They continue on their way and encounter the Daimon Germatoid, who had used Professor Tomoe's body as a vessel. They battle him, but are out numbered. Germatoid had already studied their attack moves and could protect himself from anything they threw at him.
When they became trapped, Pluto's presence, be it spiritual or otherwise, was noted. She simply said "talismans." Like a key, those words generated the Space Sword in front of Uranus and the Deep Aqua Mirror in front of Neptune. With the powerful objects they were able to defeat Germatoid easily. Once finished though, Uranus looks down at the ground looking a bit lost and sorrowful. She says sadly, "I thought I heard Pluto's voice…" Neptune is quiet and has the same thoughts.
They soon recollect themselves and head off to finish their mission. Uranus comments the Death Busters were stronger than they thought. Neptune says determinedly that they won't lose. With thoughts of Pluto, I think those words give indication that they wouldn't let Pluto's death be in vain on top of that they would make sure the world isn't destroyed.
