117 "Higher, Stronger! Cheers by Usagi"

In the beginning of this episode, Mamoru and Luna inform Moon and company more about Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. The five girls learn that the three were as different as they said. They walked on different paths from those who protected the Moon Kingdom. They spoke the truth of being stronger and being on different jurisdictions. Mamoru tells how they fight intruders from outside the Solar System.

The five soldiers also learn more about the Death Busters and just how strong an enemy they truly are. It is not often Pluto leaves her post at the boundaries of time and space. For this, however, she will to aid Uranus and Neptune.

Makoto comes to grudgingly accept they are stronger, it seems. Rei admits to thinking the three were somewhat different to her and the rest of Moon's team. Ami voices that they now better understand why they act the way they do.

Luna then solemnly tells them more. Uranus, Neptune and Pluto protected their world in the past, "on a star of solitude." This was pretty much noted by me in episode 113. Artemis becomes emotional at this time and more or less states what is occurring now, "They are back, wanting to fight alone once again, working separately from us." Artemis of course romanticizes the situation and finds the whole situation sad, but I suppose I am doing such too.

Anyway, Mamoru tells the five soldiers to not think about fighting along with them. As quoted, "The world you wish for and what they wish for is completely different." In memory of that quote, however, Pluto has her eyes closed, looking resigned. I'd say she wishes there was another way, but she sticks by what she knows and who she has always been since her taking up her duty.

Later on, Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna watch as a famous athlete Shun Hayase practices. Chibiusa appears and the three of them take to her kindly. Haruka's face relaxes and she calls Chibiusa by a nickname she's used since episode 103 - Little one. Michiru looks at her fondly and Setsuna questions her almost motherly.

When Usagi appears on the scene, in the distance, Haruka still calls her "odango atama", which she used as a fond nickname since before they even knew each others identities. How can she not still care about Usagi when she does that?

They also seem to believe in Sailor Moon more, since in this episode they did not find it necessary to transform. Then again, who knows? Perhaps they were waiting for the strange energy to appear again and thus did not interfere…
