Inside Jokes

Another thing privy to the 1990s were inside jokes due to the American adaptation of Sailor Moon done by DiC, which eventually extended to the early 2000s when Cloverway took over. Those who watched Sailor Moon in its original format with the usage of subtitles developed jokes from North America's way of censoring things. Here is a small list of "Secret Codes" developed from this censorship:

Juice = Booze
Talent = Large Breasts
Cocoa = Coffee
Cousins = Homosexuals
Special Friend = Love Interest
Spider Stretch = Cop a Feel
Ice Cream = Drugs*

*The last example is more of a speculative joke on my behalf. Ice Cream had no original counterpart. Cloverway simply loved to use it in their dialogue. (Because we all know that when girls hang out they have to gorge on ice cream.) Given the situations they were presented in and the fact there was never any ice cream shown... I couldn't help but see it as a code for, "Let's get high somewhere off screen."
