Musaeus

A mythical seer and priest, Musaeus was the pupil of Orpheus.

From The Presocratic Philosophers, a translation of Philodemus de pietate is translated and quoted. It tells how Musaeus placed Nyx and Tartaros as first principles.

"In some sources all things are said to come from Night (Nyx) and Tartaros, and in some from Hades and Aither; the author of the Titanomachy says they came from Aither, and Acusilaus says that the other things came from Chaos (Khaos), which was the first; while in the verses ascribed to Musaeus it is written that Tartaros and Night (Nyx) were the first."
