His Overall Style

If anything he would be a casual dresser. It is always jeans and a turtleneck. One might say he lacks in creativity. It doesn't draw interest, makes a person seem one-sided and very simple. I'd say that is exactly what someone of Trowa's abilities would go for. It is inconspicuous and makes him blend in. He doesn't want to be noticed. He portrays the "Average Joe" feel.

Still, usually for the complete casual look the shirt would usually be a t-shirt or a tank top rather than a turtleneck. I recall once seeing a page that used his lack of revealing attire to indicate the possible abuse theory. He didn't want to show his body.

Trowa's body is pretty much completely covered other than his hands and half his face. Thus, perhaps it does have something to do with hiding if anything. The fact that his clothes vary from perfect fit to down right second skin, depending how one looks at him, it seems to debunk the argument of abuse. Some might say the fitting of his clothes actually draws attention to him instead.

Trowa's attire leaves "little to the imagination" one might say. You see his physique easily. His long lean body is displayed. You can tell he is either just naturally skinny or he is in very good shape in the similarity to a dancer or practitioner of yoga. Though Trowa's choice in attire is "plain" he certainly uses it to show his various qualities look wise. It can indicate he is quite confident in his body.

Another possibility is comfort. While for some well fitted clothing can be uncomfortable as it can leave one seemingly nothing to hide, it can also likely be soothing. Think of when one is nestled tightly in dark warmth. One feels at peace and safe. Why can it not be the same with clothes?

Well fitting clothes can give a sense of being held securely. While some will say loose clothes are more liberating such as for movement, perhaps for some well fitted clothing gives a sort of stability. With such a stability one can be just as confident and perhaps just as liberated.

Trowa might take it as such a way, since the opposite effect would be drawing attention to himself through displaying his body. After all, while his clothes are well fitting, he doesn't show skin. Thus, he is lacking intention to draw the eyes of others in terms of physical or sexual interest. Trowa doesn't seem the type to flaunt himself.

Instead it gives a sense of protection. In a sense the clothing might even seem nurturing in the sense of a child who is held, wrapped warmly in fabrics. There is a chance it gives a semblance of the love a child feels when protected in a mother's womb, a time when we are all wrapped protectively in warmth.

So then, so far his choice of clothing seems to be based on showing a down-to-earth, inconspicuous look as well as bringing a sort of physical and psychological form of comfort.
