Years in the Manga

1958 - The manga was released in 1975. Kaoru is seventeen in the manga. It can be assumed her birth year would be this. There is not information on years before her senior school age.

1974 - Kaoru is dating Takehiko at the time, but soon an illness befalls her. She has breast cancer and during that year, she is on sick leave.

1975 - The key time in Kaoru's life starts here. It begins in April, beginning of the school year. Like the other characters in the manga, she undergoes trials along with good times. By the time six months have passed, it is October and she makes a huge impact on the school along with those she befriends or already is friends with. Along side this, however, Rei dies.

1976 - She and Takehiko marry before the next autumn and then they leave for Germany.

1978 - Kaoru dies as read in a letter sent to Nanako by Takehiko.
