Season two begins six months after the Sunlit Mansion burned down. During those six months Angelique has been in a coma-like state. Due to this the Orb Hunters have been at a standstill. The people of Arcadia come to believe Nyx and the rest of them are the cause of all the new swarm of Thanatos because his old property has become the nesting ground for them. Along with this, they feel betrayed by Angelique and deem her a fake.
Angelique and Nyx's first meeting after all that time is in episode "The Melody of Encounters". While Angelique remained in a coma for six months the sky also remained dark and rainy. Finally, the sun comes out and in turn Angelique awakes. Still recuperating, she sits up in bed late into the night taking in all the information she's been told by the others. She soon thinks of Nyx again and wonders why.
Angelique soon hears a familiar melody being played on a piano. Soon, as though in a dream, she is taken to the woods outside the Sunlit Mansion property. There is only the foundation covered in rubble left of the once great mansion. In the middle of it a less immaculate looking Nyx is playing. He stops when she reaches about seven yards away from him. His expression is tired and sorrowful.
Angelique, of course is upset and began demanding answers. In the end she tells him how she wished she had never met him for all the pain he put her through. She finds him terrible. By the end of it she begins to weep.
An almost numb Nyx replies he is sorry. He continues in his almost detached, adult-like way in narration. It is at the end does one take in consideration that it isn't that he is unmoved by her tears, as it is he accepts everything and knew it was coming. He can only tell her to hate him if it alone should give her the power to act again. He then asks her to kill him. Angelique obviously never expected such and her despair and anguish is put on hold by shock.
"My very existence brings you sorrow." he says simply, but with remorse on his features. He no longer wishes to see her suffer and so spreads out his arms and begs her to kill him.
Before anything can come of his pleas, purple and black shadows swarm over him. Unable to truly hate him, Angelique runs to his aide, but is too late. He is swallowed up into a void of darkness.
It seems it was all a dream when Angelique soon wakes up and finds herself outside. She is surrounded by Rayne, J.D. and Hyuga. Even her cat is there. She begins to think it really was a dream, but soon finds Nyx's hair ribbon entangled with her fingers. Despite what happened in her dream, Angelique knows that what Nyx really wants is to be saved by her.
Thus, it seems that Angelique never could really hate Nyx... probably not anyone. Her feelings in regards to him now are still likely quite uncertain though. Nyx meanwhile still obviously cares for her despite all that happened. Again though, there is still question about his caring only for death. While one can delve into his psyche and decide he felt he had no right to give excuses and that it was all his fault and not Erebos... one can also simply conclude he still only cares to rid himself of Erebos despite with it is good intentions to stop the onslaught of Thanatos and bring peace to Arcadia again. Perhaps it is both? Either way, it still leaves that lingering question of what it is that makes him care about Angelique.
In episode "Sword in Hand" Angelique and the others are traveling to Celestizam. While walking she thinks of the dreams she had of Nyx and wishes she could really speak with him. With her mind elsewhere she is soon kidnapped by men who want to hurt her. She is fortunately saved by a woman who happens to be a captain of a ship. The captain, Cedna, not knowing who they are nor caring, offers them a ride in turn for their working for her.
Seeing the strength of the Captain, Angelique wishes to learn the way of the sword so she can protect those she cares about too. Ever since the mansion burned down her helplessness in matters of battle are weighing down on her more. Angelique's wish to save everyone is still unfulfilled. Even after the Captain tells her she is unfit, Angelique does her best to learn on her own.
After that Captain finds out she is the Queen's Egg, she asks Angelique if she ever wishes to quit. Angelique speaks of how she was taught the concept of "Noblesse oblige". The Captain asks Angelique if the person who taught her was also who she was referring to earlier when she talked about being unable to save everyone. It is. Angelique also says tearfully, "I miss him so much."
With that, it seems that Angelique's feelings of betrayal, despair and anguish have been tempered greatly. She still cares for Nyx considerably even though she doesn't know the whole story. Why she is able to forgive him so easily, one might question if she might love him a bit more than family or friend. It is unknown.
In episode "My Little Angie", Angelique's first thoughts as they enter the Capital is of Nyx and how she wished that when she came back there he would be with them like last time. In order to find out more, she decides to ask the Head of Order about her dreams of him. She says she still believes in Nyx.
When meeting with the Head of Order, who ends up being René, she asks about Nyx. She tells him what happened the night she and the others disappeared, how Nyx was the cause of it and that she knows in truth that he is really seeking salvation. In turn she wishes to save him. She calls him her "suffering companion". She hopes that if she becomes Queen she will be able to save him and thus asks René how.
Again this shows that she holds him in the same regards as Rayne, J.D. and Hyuga, it seems. They are all her companions. Still, it also shows she likely believes in Nyx the most considering their relationship is the most strained and yet she misses and thinks of him constantly since their separation. It seems to show particularly when she reads a letter August sent to her. She is obviously moved by his letter of worry about his friend and his plea for her to help him. She likely also relates to it greatly.
In the episode "Holy Rebellion", René's coronation ceremony begins. Mathias was simply a stand in and thus was expendable and as far as the Elders thought, someone who should be killed. Alas, Mathias is certain he is meant to keep his position. Overcome with anger, jealousy, despair and various other dark emotions he becomes dangerous.
In using Erenfried earlier, Mathias became the master of Jet, an Artifact, and gained a chip that would give him the powers of a Purifier. With these he has the Elders killed, throws a coup and takes René and Angelique hostage. He then uses the chip, which twists his morals more.
Later on Jet begins strangling Angelique because she limits him from carrying out orders given to him. Mathias simply lets him for entertainment. The rest of the Orb Hunters are unable to get to Angelique due to countless Thanatos that appear due to Mathias.
Whilst this is all happening, a cloaked figure easily enters the overrun chapel. Said figure runs in, easily gets past the Thanatos and saves Angelique from Jet. This of course, turns out to be Nyx. Carrying her away, they escape the chapel.
Acting quite himself again, Angelique can only be confused. He asks her to come with him. Despite her reluctance and not wanting to leave the others she is uncertain, but soon agrees. She fears if she shuns him then she will lose him like in her dream, it seems. And so, together they make leave of the Capital.
The actions alone speak quite loudly here. Out of all the others, Nyx is the one who makes it to her. When it comes to decision to stay to help the others or to go with Nyx and find out what is going on with him, Angelique chooses the latter. Still, one could argue that the Thanatos didn’t go after Nyx because he has Erebos in him, but if one looks to episodes before they didn’t seem to really care who he was. Then again, perhaps it is because Erebos has more control over him now and thus a stronger presence that wards them off. Who knows?
As for Angelique, there is the fact that she did consider the others, but perhaps she believed in them enough to feel certain they'd make it out alive. Then again, she hadn't seen Nyx for half a year and more, she missed him and wanted answers. There was also the chance of him disappearing again and thus losing the chance. It is a hard decision.
So, I suppose this scene is what the viewer makes of it, but again it seems to emphasize on their relationship with each other. Angelique's safety is still a great priority to Nyx and thus he is able to save her despite what is happening to him and Angelique still cares about Nyx greatly that she’ll even put him before the others in such a situation.
Episode "A Night of Truth" picks up where the last episode left off. Nyx takes Angelique to a summer villa that belonged to his family. He tells her how the last time he was there was with his parents for his mother's birthday when she sees two gifts he made for her. Not being one to divulge into his past, it seems he is more willing to talk about his past to her as opposed to others. Perhaps it was just a warm up, however, to get him a bit more accustomed to talking about such things by starting off by something simple.
After building a fire, he finally faces her, but finds he doesn't know where to begin. His first priority is finding a way to apologize. He is quite surprised when Angelique smiles at him and simply says she is relieved he is safe. Despite her somewhat troubled if not uncomfortable expression earlier, she looks at peace when she says such.
Perhaps it is due to the dream she thought and perhaps often dreamt about. With how he began it likely soothed her. Thus, she helps him out and asks him what happened that night when they last saw each other at the Sunlit Mansion.
Remorseful and likely weary, Nyx tells her everything. This information is covered in The Armoire. Basically he tells her how Erebos came to possess him and that is the reason the Sunlit Manor was burned down by him. It was the actions of Erebos using his body. The Thanatos that plague Arcadia also were connected to him and the only way to stop them was to kill Erebos. In order to kill Erebos he has to be killed as well. The Queen is the only one with the power to do so.
With this relayed, Nyx goes down on one knee and looks up at Angelique almost adoringly and relieved. He tells her how he wandered the lands for countless years in search of her. Taking hold of her hand, he tells her sincerely how he was happy she ended up being the one. Angelique can only look shocked.
This could be fishing though, but admittedly when I see this scene it seems to have the power of a man almost professing his love. Strange, but it does. In any case, Nyx did find the ability to tell Angelique everything and the task was likely very hard for him considering he kept that knowledge to himself for such a long time. Angelique meanwhile was sympathetic, shocked and patient throughout it.
He continues on to say he sought her in hopes that she'd end his "fatal destiny", which surprises Angelique. He caresses her cheek gently but soon continues on in a more dismal note. Despite he knows the good his death would bring he found her mere presence was enough to make him no longer yearn for it. He asks her if she realizes how precious his time with her has been almost desperately, but soon his features soften and tells her how he sees her as bright and divine. His hands encase one of hers at this confession and he continues to say how he'd like to live on with her beside him. Angelique can only gaze down at him and murmur his name. Again, she looks touched and yet shocked by this.
Nyx becomes solemn once again. Despite his wants, he is still torn. The more he wishes to live now, the greater Erebos becomes. Thus despite his wishes, the best course of action is the opposite. His desire to live is apparently hopeless now because soon Erebos will have complete control over his body. His eyes glassy with sorrow and despair, he tells her that is why he had to tell her all of that now before he no longer had the chance to.
With his goal accomplished, he closes his eyes then. Though he considers it selfish, he asks her to kill him once she becomes Queen. Angelique can only reply she cannot do such a thing. Nyx lets go of her hand then and rises. He reminds her it is the only way to save Arcadia.
I'd say this whole scene speaks in volumes. If one has watched the series, Hyuga often says he will die for Angelique. While Angelique inspires that in him, she inspires Nyx to live instead. It isn't to say Hyuga's vow is a bad thing, but any of the Orb Hunters would die for Angelique. How many have said she makes them want to live to simply be beside her? That is pretty intense there.
In Angelique's case, again she puts Nyx's single life before saving Arcadia it seems. She cannot conceive killing him. Instead of believing his words, her feelings for him make her determined to find another way. She sees him as a victim despite he thinks his fate is deserved.
When trying to convince him of such, she runs towards his turned back and trips over a blanket she is using to keep warm. Nyx reacts to this quickly and catches her. She ends up resting close to him, her hands against his chest and he has his arms wrapped about her. It is a rather romantic pose.
As he holds her, he thanks her for her emotional response. To know she truly cares for him despite everything makes him happy. Still, his thoughts are gloomy and he can’t see any other way like she can. He also likely sees himself unworthy of her when he goes on to say how he has taken much from her. He pulls away a bit and looks down at her with an expression of unfathomable sorrow as he lists things he "stole".
To his surprise Angelique argues that. While in the beginning of the second season, Angelique did blame him, upon knowing the whole story she understands he didn't steal anything from her. She tells him Erebos was the one who did such things. Nyx meanwhile gave her plenty of things she cares about most. While her parents and home were stolen from her, Nyx in turn gave her companions and deeper meaning of home. In this, she discovered her place in life. Because of all of this, she can only ask him to stay. Again, Nyx is stunned by her different view.
Thus, in this Nyx continues going through an emotional tug-of-war. Being alone for so long, he could only conclude he was greedy and the true cause of all the suffering in Arcadia. He likely comes to find wanting to be with Angelique as something he is unworthy of. Thus he believes he should simply die as that is the only justifiable thing to do. He even feels bad for asking for death because it would mean Angelique would have to do it.
Angelique doesn't seem to have that problem. She sees things more clearly than him. Erebos is the true cause to the suffering, she wants him to live and stay by her side like all the others and thus she will find a way to save him instead of bringing his death. They seem to be quite the yin-yang and thus in a sense compatible.
Unfortunately this is all cut short soon. Erebos comes along and takes over Nyx. He pushes her way from him and fights it off as long as he can while asking Angelique to run away. He is still protecting her the best he can. Despite his efforts, Angelique remains and is left with Erebos before her.
Erebos taunts her about not being able to kill him. Angelique replies she has no intention of destroying Nyx but he is a different story, indicating she knows she is facing Erebos now. She knows with a fact that "Nyx would never hurt [her]." She cries out to Nyx, hoping he can hear her. She vows to save him from Erebos and tells him not to give up.
It is when Erebos gets too close to her and grabs her sword to keep it from moving is Nyx able to gain control again for a moment. He soon is gone again, but it convinces Erebos enough to retreat.
Again, it shows just how strong Nyx's feelings are for her. Her determination to save him indicates how much she cares for him. While the case of her being his means to an end still lingers, this episode really displays how much his true feelings for her have grown to be more than that. It seems to be the same with Angelique, but she still appears to see him mainly as an irreplaceable companion... just possibly more close to her than the others.
In episode "The Young Men's Resolve", the others along with René, Bernard and Erenfried find Angelique. She takes them to Nyx's villa and then relays what she learned. They all seem to understand that Nyx isn't to blame then. Angelique again recalls his plea for her to kill him once she is Queen. In quick response she says aloud with determination, "I don‘t want him to die. I want to save Nyx. I will banish Erebos from his body. I will!" The others quickly agree.
Later on René's resolve strengthens and he decides to become the Head of Order and save Mathias. Angelique replies she in turn will save Nyx, for doing that is the key to saving Arcadia. Again, death is far from her mind. If one wishes to, the scene could show a similarity between the relationships the two have with their suffering friends. If it does, it could indicate that Angelique sees Nyx as a guardian, mentor, older brother, friend and something like family all in one. Still, nothing is stated completely.
Again at the end of the episode Angelique thinks to Nyx, "I'll save you!"
In "The Price of Sin", René explains what Erebos really is. In the process, she thinks of how Nyx searched for her for countless years in order to end it all. During that time he fought against Erebos from taking over him. In conclusion to this, she asks to know where Erebos's main body is so she can destroy it. René cannot tell her much, but she knows she will meet the end of the battle no matter what.
During this talk, Roche, an information broker, stumbles into Erebos. Roche only sees him as Nyx, a traitor, at the time though and not Erebos. He takes him on, seeing Nyx as only a pampered aristocrat who is full of himself. In the end, Roche starts talking about Angelique and annoys Erebos enough to near kill him. A picture falls out of Roche's jacket though. It is of Angelique. Upon seeing it, Nyx soon resurfaces. He picks up the photo and for a moment Nyx has control again, despite weakly. He takes the photo then instead of Roche's life. With that he tells Roche where he can find her and retreats hastily. Roche mutters, "Angie, it looks like you‘re the only one who can save Nyx."
Well, this scene definitely shows how much Angelique affects him when just her photo can give him strength to reappear right then. His comment to Roche also leads one to wonder if he heard the man's words while Erebos was in control of his body. Nyx probably would have liked to wring Roche's neck when hearing his taunts, which were about Angelique dating him. In the end, he tells Roche where to find her. He seems to know that soon enough he will no longer be able to appear anymore and of Erebos's plans. Thus he sends Roche to her to help her when Erebos attacks.
Later on Mathias finally comes to his senses and is on their side again. He comments that he and Angelique must share similar feelings since they both lost their homes. When he notes how she remained strong, she replies she wasn't always, but she did learn from what occurred. She says she learned about what was really important. She then looks to those around her, indicating her relationships with them. At the end, she thinks, "And..." Following this is a vision of Nyx catching sight of her and smiling gently.
So pretty much, no matter what Nyx will always be part of her circle of important people. In a sense, she likely sees them all as family despite she calls them her "companions". Alas the peaceful moment is abruptly ended.
Angelique soon senses something is wrong and Erebos appears. Upon seeing him she murmurs Nyx's name. Most might think she sees Erebos as Nyx, but it seems she only says his name in worry since Erebos obviously is in control. I'd say it sort of reflects the time she was held captive by Erenfried and murmured Nyx, Rayne, J.D. and Hyuga's names when she was aware of their presence and their pain but was unable to reach them.
Episode "Rest in Celestizam" begins where the previous episode left off. Rayne, J.D. and Hyuga don't seem to understand what Angelique does despite what they were told about Nyx being processed. They ask him why he is doing what he is doing as though they never heard what happened. Angelique meanwhile can recognize Erebos easily and tells them it is no use.
When Mathias attacks Nyx with what powers he gained from the chip, Angelique gasps in worry. It would seem she was afraid of Mathias hurting Erebos and thus hurting Nyx as well. The fight begins but after a few exchanges of blows, Erebos asks why they won't use their real powers. It takes note of Angelique and asks if they feel they can really kill it. Angelique wavers a bit when Erebos asks this.
Erebos knows well that as long as it has Nyx trapped and his body under its command, there will always be a struggle for its enemies. Angelique doesn't want to kill Nyx and Erebos takes advantage of this. To its misfortune, however, Erebos seems to strengthen Angelique's will more once he places the ending blow on Mathias. Her renewed and more powerful strength causes Erebos to retreat. I think the two scenes pretty much speak for themselves.
In episode "To the Sky..." Angelique has to face matters of loneliness as she makes her way closer to being Queen and defeating Erebos. While her friends told her earlier on that they'd always be together, go back to the times they had when at the Sunlit mansion and so forth, she knows such is not possible... not if she wishes to save Arcadia.
Again, she seems to see all her companions on a similar plane and they seem to understand that all of them should be together as long as Angelique is with them. Nyx would likely be the same if he hadn't had to deal with fighting Erebos practically all his life.
If anything is shown in this episode it would be that all the men in her life so far care about her greatly and in some cases quite more than just friends. Roche has always seemed to display such feelings in the second season and one can see plenty of hints from Rayne. Nyx and them seem the most obvious contenders for her affections.
Angelique meanwhile never really seems to have time to think of love in a romantic sense. Even back in the first season she avoided the concept of searching for love. She's always had other things like becoming a doctor, helping others, fighting Thanatos, becoming Queen and so forth to worry about that the only love she seems to care for is that of a family and friends.
Perhaps she does have developing feelings and suppresses them though all for the greater good. When Roche told her to stay, she was quite emotional, but one can only wonder what her feelings truly were... Was it sorrow because she had to leave all of her friends? Was it overwhelm from having such a confession and knowing what her priorities were? Was it torn feelings because she felt for him too? One will never know.
Still, by what is provided, she still just wants all of them to be happy. She wants to stay with all of them and not just one. So, if she was really placed in a situation where she had to choose one of them... I doubt she'd be able to. This seems to be proven more later on when she talks to Jet and gets her priorities back on track.
She thinks of what she desires most and recalls all that has occurred. She recalls how in the beginning of all this she always looked to Nyx to guide her and that she always wished to have the power to help others. In this she knows what would make her happy in the end. She chooses to become Queen. The others in turn seem to be happy just to have her happy.
By the looks of it, none of them would really put her in a bind if they can help it. They would likely tell her their feelings if the moment seemed right. Still, if Angelique did indeed choose one out of her many admirers, it would seem that they would not cause her troubles once her decision was made.
Again the three Orb Hunters that are still with her voice their feelings and thoughts in a sort of unity that I believe Nyx would agree with if he was there. They tell her that they follow her not because she is the Queen's Egg, but because she is simply Angelique. If such a theory is true, Nyx likely doesn't see her so much as an end to a means anymore if at all.
At the end of the episode, the four head off in the Stellar Vessel to find Erebos. Angelique thinks of how they will find both Erebos and Nyx at the end of their trip and then envisions Nyx alone in a fog. She vows again to him that they will save him.
The last episode of the series, "Eternal Arcadia", Angelique, Rayne, J.D. and Hyuga make it to a place that looks like a completely ruined Arcadia. The only place that isn't ruined is a version of the Sunlit Manor in all its glory. There they plan to find Nyx.
Angelique gets separated from the group and encounters Erebos, but with the illusion of the mansion and the mannerisms, she mistakes it for Nyx. There Erebos tries to lure all of them into traps through showing them some of their inner desires. For Rayne, J.D. and Hyuga they see the times they first encountered Angelique and in turn, she returns their individual feelings and wishes to stay as theirs alone. They know Angelique too well to know the girls they see before them are not the real Angelique though. The illusion is broken and the girls are really negative spirits of previous purifiers.
With Angelique, Erebos tries to convince her that Nyx prefers the version of Arcadia they are in tries to persuade her and the others to stay. Then they would all be able to go back to old times. At the same time the vengeful spirits try to convince Rayne, J.D. and Hyuga of the same. All of them seemed to be drugged by the longing they have for that time. Angelique almost falls into temptation when suddenly Nyx's true voice brings her back to her senses. Again, the term "Noblesse oblige" is used. Upon remembering his words, all of them seem to break from the spell once Angelique regains her determination to carry out her goal.
Knowing she now understands she hasn't been talking to Nyx at all, Erebos destroys the façade and gets down to business. It still tries to make her falter, but it seems as long as she remembers "Noblesse oblige" she will remember her true purpose and all that she had learned and acquired after that.
Again, whatever she feels for her companions specifically is never determined. All that matters to her is that they all want the same thing. She came to find peace in this despite they will be separated because their hearts are connected. She envisions all the men who have helped her... all except Nyx then, but soon she addresses him.
Angelique calls to him in hopes he can still hear her saying, "So Nyx, you are still an important companion to us too!"
That strikes through and Nyx does indeed hear her declaration. Gaining control of his body a bit, he is stunned that they still consider him as one of them despite all that has happened. Rayne, J.D. and Hyuga arrive and agree with this and reassure that they all feel this way.
Nyx had lost hope in that ever since the Sunlit Mansion burned down it seems. He considers everything that Erebos had done were his own sins. He can only be in disbelief that they still consider him one of them. Angelique then steps forward and tells him, "I care deeply for you, Nyx." She then produces the hair tie she kept since the day she awoke from her coma and met him in her dreams.
That is pretty intense there, I'd say. Despite the quoted line, despite how deeply she cares for him, it is still not a certainty to how deep that care is. Still, the bond is apparent and Angelique apparently only sees him as good and wishes to return all the good he gave her. Thus, she assures him that his sorrow and Erebos's sins will be taken upon herself instead.
Alas, she ends her speech with words that spark Erebos's discontent and it takes control over Nyx's body once more, this time completely to the point of making it deformed. The souls the boys fought also appear and fuel Erebos's anger. After taking a harsh blow, Angelique pushes herself up and looks at the hair tie still wrapped about her hand. She knows now that Nyx is completely under Erebos's control now and probably is unreachable to her voice.
Looking at the tie again, her determination rises and she talks to Erebos now, declaring she will purify it. She cries out to Nyx nonetheless to fight with her and to not give up. The others join in, hoping he will hear them and believe in himself again.
Erebos then sends out the tortured souls it devoured at them. Rayne, J.D. and Hyuga plan to take them back too, just like Nyx. They all understand they were victims. Angelique in turns confronts Erebos. All of their words and actions apparently did reach Nyx. While Angelique runs in to attack, Nyx's soul appears like a heavenly spirit and he holds the corporeal form of Erebos back.
Apparently they renewed his will power and strength and he tells Erebos it cannot control him anymore. He then looks to Angelique and smiles. Angelique cries out his name emotionally, likely with great relief. He then closes his eyes and gives a nod, as though saying it is alright for her to slay Erebos. She in turn does.
Stabbing Nyx's body through completely with her sword, Erebos is banished from it. While holding Nyx, she purifies Erebos and everyone else.
Nyx is relieved and tells Angelique how he had waited for this. Angelique looks like she is about to cry while he speaks of such, though. He thanks her and tells her goodbye, but she says no. She asks him to live. He looks at her tiredly and notes he has lived for two-hundred years and wonders is she wishes for him to continue suffering. He is surprised yet again when she replies the negative. She replies she is asking him to be happy. She tells him to live.
With that final world, light engulfs him and he seems to realize what is happening. He looks at her with question. She simply smiles and says, "Let us meet again someday." Nyx then disappears in a flash of light but before that happens he says his trademark line, "Ah, you're..."
The others soon run up and ask where Nyx is. She turns and smiles. "Nyx is just fine." she says.
After that Angelique encounters the universe's consciousness and becomes the Queen finally. She says goodbye to Rayne, J.D. and Hyuga and some fans would likely say Rayne loved her most with how he responded to this, but all of the characters have their own way of handling things.
At the end, Angelique thanks all of them as her "dearest friends". The others... not so much. Bernard intends to find Angelique again and believes that will happen once mankind is strong enough to overcome its own hardships. Roche vows to never give up and find a way to get to her. Erenfried also intends to find a way to reach her and Jet thinks of Angelique the moment he has consciousness again. René, unable to leave the Holy Capital asks her to come see him. J.D. plans to carry out his first mission in spreading smiles wherever he goes and will continue doing so until he meets Angelique again. Hyuga plans to carry on his path to serve her the best he can and intends to find her at the end of it. Rayne simply says he'll do his best to find a way to get to her.
Interestingly Nyx is the only one who doesn't make a pledge. Instead it shows him at a restored Sunlit Mansion. For once the many flowers he was unable to make bloom in his flowerbeds are there in tenfold. As he gazes upon them, Erwin, who didn't like him at all due to Erebos's presence, is snuggling in his arms content. A small, mysterious smile plays upon his lips.
Perhaps there was nothing needed to be said when it came to him. Angelique told him they would meet again. She also kept her vow to give back to him fortunes in turn for all the fortunes he had given to her. He is likely content to wait and for once hope. He will simply do what she asked of him, which was to live.
In the end, it is obvious their feelings for each other run deep. Nyx seems to love her as truly as he possibly can. Angelique... it doesn't seem to matter. Whether she loves him or any of the others as something more than a friend or a family member, she is in a world they cannot reach. If all of them are able to meet her again, she likely would still want to just be with all of them as family. Her decision would likely have to pan out into an entire series dedicated to her when she finishes her task as Queen.
So Nyx's love life? He loves, but the object of his affections is unobtainable in many ways and has the interest of nine other men.
