Gundam W Endless Waltz Book Two Pages 256-263

This is an excerpt I translated from New Mobile Suit Report Gundam W Endless Waltz (Magazine Novels Special) by Katsuyuki Sumizawa. It was released in the form of two books. The second book was released on July 23, 1997. Please keep in mind that I am not an expert in translating, therefore some areas may be lacking.

Pages 256-263

The battle continued into the night. Noin's Taurus fired its machine guns relentlessly. Its target was the hover engines of the foot units. With this attack, the Serpents would be immobilized, and they would only need to retreat from the area without being pursued.
Meanwhile, Zechs' Tallgeese engaged in close combat, steadily wearing down the enemy's forces with beam saber attacks that targeted the cockpit. However, the number of enemies was not decreasing at all. New Serpent units kept appearing one after another. Finally, the Tallgeese was shot down in mid-air. Then the Serpents, in a group, launched their attack. "Ugh..."

256

The beam saber's output was weakening, and the neo-titanium bodies were becoming harder to cut through.
"This is it...?"
For the first time in this battle, Zechs expressed weakness.
Noin's communication came in, "I'm not saying any good-byes yet, Zechs..."
It meant that if they died... they died together.
Zechs said to motivate himself, "Of course not..."
He still couldn't afford to give up. However, the Serpent looming before him seemed impossible to repel.
At that moment... The Serpent was cut in half.
"Huh?"
The cockpit of the Serpent had been removed. Amidst the flash of the explosion, a silhouette appeared, wielding two long knives and wearing a long cloak. There is no one else who could perform such a swift maneuver at that speed other than a Gundam pilot.

257

"I'm glad we weren't too late..."
Noin, hearing that voice, called out, "Quatre...!" just as she used to when they were colleagues as royal guards in the Sanq Kingdom.
From beyond the billowing smoke, a Gundam with a noble purple body emerged.
《Gundam Sandrock Kai》
It stood there, a proud warrior, truly as majestic figure.
A new Serpent opened fire with a machine gun towards the machine. Sandrock threw its long sword—the heat shotel slicing through the upper half of the body. However, the pilot's cockpit was removed. At this point, it goes beyond being a master and it can be called divine skill.
Quatre smiled broadly and said, "You two are truly impressive..."
Looking around from the cockpit, he added, "You've fought this many without killing one soldier..." while watching the fleeing soldiers.
Noin said casually, "I'd be glad if we could teach these people something..."

Urban warfare has many blind spots. The reconnaissance responses create errors. Moreover, it's night now. Fighting under the cover of night was Duo's specialty. He took down the Serpent that emerged from between the buildings with remarkable skill.
The enemy soldiers were in a panic. One by one, comrades were falling, yet there were no reconnaissance signals anywhere. A chill ran down their spines.
Suddenly, the reconnaissance detected something. It indicated 'above.' The soldier looked up at the sky. The moon was out. In that light, the soldier saw a black shadow appear.
"W-what is that...?"
The black shadow spread its demon-like wings.

259

It looked like the wings of a bat. The soldier gasped. That black shadow was approaching silently.
"No way...!"
A flash of light sliced through the darkness. It was the scythe of the Grim Reaper.
《Gundam Deathscythe Hell》
This Gundam, known by the alias of the God of Death, defeated the Serpent by removing the cockpit.
"Hehehe... Let's take the weapons and war itself with us to hell!"
Duo's unique fearless eyes were shining.

Five Serpents were firing in unison. Amidst the barrage of bullets, a fully armored Gundam was walking calmly.
《Gundam Heavyarms Kai》
Its Gundanium armor does not flinch no matter how many hits it takes, whether it's one or dozens. The Serpents shoot their guns desperately.

260

However, Heavy Arms did not stop advancing. It does not change its imposing demeanor. The Serpent unit is overwhelmed by its presence and gradually retreats. They were completely ineffective against its machine gun fire. That was the impression it gave. The Serpent unit eventually fled.
Contrary to its appearance, Heavy Arms leapt into action with agile movements. It flew over the Serpent's head and even performed a mid-air spin. As Heavy Arms descended in their path, it slowly raised its quad-mounted gatling gun.
The Serpents were completely stuck in place. Its firepower was over twice as strong. It would not let them escape. It also conveyed a sense of coldness. There was a moment of pause. There was a brief pause. But the pilots of the Serpent units could only hold their breath. The gatling gun's barrels began to spin.

261

The five Serpents were hit by a torrent of bullets. The Serpents stood motionless. The volume of fire was incomparable to the previous barrage. The rotations of the gatling came to a stop. Heavy Arms had smoke rising from its hefty arm.
The five Serpents were still standing. However, they were only standing. Their armor was dented irregularly in proportion to the number of hits taken. Bullets fell pattering to the ground. Heavy Arms' bullets had their fuses removed. However, with that many hits, the Serpents' functions should be ceased.
The pilot of Heavy Arms, Trowa, said without changing his expression,
"About 250 left. That's 50 suits each. If that's all, then we should be able to manage."
After he finished speaking, the Serpents began to fall apart. Of course, the pilots were not dead.

"Zechs sincerely welcomed the appearance of the three.
"Ah... if that's the case, then Dekim and Mariemaia will be finished... the remaining issues can be entrusted to others..."
That scene was indeed broadcast to the entire Earth sphere through the Mariemaia Army's surveillance monitors. People were watching it intently and sensing something that called to their souls.
"It's the Gundams..."
"They're fighting against a hundred times their number with just five units..."
"I believe the Gundam pilots are still just kids..."
However, the feelings these people were experiencing had not yet grown strong enough to provoke action.
In the shelter's command room, Dekim was gritting his teeth.
"How much longer will those punks retaliate against me!" This statement is incorrect.
