New Mobile Suit Report Gundam W Encyclopedia

The following has excerpts from New Mobile Suit Report Gundam W Encyclopedia which came out in 1995 by Rapport Deluxe. On page 24 and 25, under the "Character Pickup" category, is a small summary of his current situation and a quote. Page 89 begins a "Valentine Interview" with all the voice actors for the main cast. Lastly there is the "Collection of Setting Materials" where notes are given on their designs and outfits. Trowa's is on page 98.

Notes from translator: In the article 愛 is used for "loved", which indicates a deep affection. 恋 would be used for being "in love" with.

Q: When we spoke before, you mentioned appearing with "Dengana Manga," and in terms of changes in personality, you seemed to be correct. How was that part?

A: Oh, is that so? (Laughs) It was a bit unsatisfying, so I wish there was more of a gap. There was also the matter of how severe the memory loss was.

Q: Well then, if you were to receive chocolate from the women in Gundam W, who would you like to get it from?

A: Among the women... Hmm. No, if I think about it normally, probably Catherine. But even for myself, it is still Catherine. (Laughs.)

Q: Then, if Trowa were a girl?

A: Of course! It's Quatre!!

Q: Others have suggested "Trowa," but even with Midorikawa-san or Okiayu-san, would it still be Quatre?

A: Cute. ♥


(Even those he says that, Nakahara-san's gaze was on Orikasa-san... and the men immediately retorted, "He's not Ai-chan!") As expected, Quatre is a young Master.


Q: In the second half, Trowa finally became able to fight alongside everyone. Did you have any difficulties with performing his role?

A: Basically, there weren't any difficulties or parts I wanted to change. There weren't really any parts that were hard to do.

Also, since his emotional changes are so intense, it was very rewarding as an actor. He also does unexpected things. Going to OZ, losing his memory (laughs), and even though he's good at analyzing situations, he runs out of bullets.

He's a character who can't think about himself. Though his expressions remain the same, showing his inner changes were the difficult part.
